Councilmember McOsker on LAHSA Homeless Count Numbers

Posted on 06/28/2024

“I am encouraged by the reduction of persons experiencing homelessness in the City of Los Angeles," said Councilmember Tim McOsker. "In the One-Five, the number of unsheltered individuals counted has dropped by 13% since 2023. This is a testament to the collaborative effort between our office, community leaders and advocates, other government agencies and officials, homeless service organizations, and housing providers to reduce homelessness in our neighborhoods. While the number of unsheltered individuals has gone down, the number of sheltered individuals has increased. This report shows that we still have much work to do. I will continue to work with community partners, Mayor Bass, City Council colleagues, LAHSA and our service providers to grow the housing solutions and services necessary for our most vulnerable neighbors."
